H. Fred Mittelstaedt is the PricewaterhouseCoopers Faculty Fellow and Department Chair of Accountancy at the University of Notre Dame. His research interests lie in financial reporting and pension and retiree health benefits, and his research has been published in accounting and finance journals. Mittelstaedt has taught courses in financial reporting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a coauthor of Financial Reporting & Analysis (4th Ed.) Honors and distinctions include the Kaneb Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Executive MBA Outstanding Teacher Award. Mittelstaedt also has given Congressional testimony on retiree health benefits. He previously was a member of the editorial advisory and review board for The Accounting Review.

James O'Brien (Jamie) teaches Business Law and law-related courses to undergraduate, Master of Accountancy, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Nonprofit Administration students. He is a CPA, as well as an attorney, and is actively involved in professional development and service within the accounting and legal communities.
O'Brien serves the Accountancy Department as the assistant chair and also advises students concerning course selection, the CPA examination requirements and other academic matters.
He serves on the board of directors for Hannah and Friends, a local nonprofit. O'Brien is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accountancy, summa cum laude, and also of the Notre Dame Law School, also summa cum laude.

Michael Morris teaches accountancy courses in the undergraduate and E&Y MS in Accountancy programs at the Mendoza College of Business. His areas of research include quantitative methods, cost accounting and managerial accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the American Accounting Association. Morris serves the Accountancy Department as the faculty director of the Masters of Science in Accountancy programs.
