Jessica McManus Warnell teaches the required undergraduate course in business ethics along with several electives in the areas of sustainable business and values-based decision-making; her position includes coordinating assessment of the Mendoza undergraduate business ethics curriculum.
She earned her M.A. from the University of Chicago and her B.A. summa cum laude from Saint Mary's College, the Certificate in Executive Management from the Notre Dame Executive Education Program, and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Certification from LEAD Canada.
She holds positions on several local community-based boards and committees and is a member of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (Membership Committee), the Society for Business Ethics, Net Impact and Alpha Kappa Delta. Past appointments include the board of directors of the Urban League of St. Joseph County, Vice Chair of the Foundation for Music and Healing, and the governing board of South Bend Youth As Resources.
Her research explores development of moral learning, principled reasoning and other outcomes of business ethics curricula, ethical leadership and sustainability education in the context of the UN PRME initiative, and managing millennials toward effective, ethical leadership.
She will serve as a visiting Research and Teaching Fellow at the Business Ethics Compliance and Research Center, Reitaku University, Kashiwa, Chiba, Japan, April - July 2013.
