Jia (Jasmine) Hu

Assistant Professor

BIO

Jia (Jasmine) Hu received her Ph.D. with concentrations in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. Her current research interests focus on understanding 1) leadership, particularly with respect to the nature of the leader-follower relationship and the role of leadership in work teams; 2) work teams, including the issues of team personality composition, team motivation, and team effectiveness; and 3) human resource management practices, especially the impact of high performance work system and team-based practices on employee and team outcomes. Her work has appeared in the field’s top journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology. In addition to research, her teaching experience includes courses of Organizational Behavior and Introduction to Management at the undergraduate level and Leadership at the MBA level.
