MBA Golf Association of Notre Dame

The MBA Golf Association aims to
couple the recreational side of golf with the business aspects via outings and
lessons at Warren Golf Course, the home course of the University of Notre Dame,
as well as the 9-hole course located at the southwest corner of campus.
One
of our primary goals is to dispel any fears associated with learning the game
of golf. We do this by offering a number of private and group lessons for our
membership with the club professionals at Warren Golf Course, which is equipped
with a turf driving range, practice bunker, chipping green, and putting green. People
of all levels and skill are encouraged to participate in order to prepare their
game for rounds with clients, bosses, or colleagues. Lesson topics span from
proper grip and posture to manipulating shot trajectory.
In
addition to lessons, the Golf Association runs a golf league during the fall
semester (modules 1 and 2) at the 9-hole course. Classmates team up and are
encouraged to rotate opposing teams in order to meet and network with as many
classmates as possible. The league takes advantage of the great fall South Bend
weather, which is fleeting, and students’ precious little free time before
recruiting picks up.
With
an expanding member list, the MBA Golf Association is poised for steady growth
in the coming years. Initiatives being considered include running tournaments
for the entire MBA community (first years, second years, and one-years),
organizing golf networking events with alumni who come to campus for various
events, and even an “MBA Cup”, a Ryder Cup style tournament with other MBA programs.
