Research Opportunities

Business students have many unique opportunities to engage in undergraduate research at Notre Dame.

Students can apply for research grants through several University departments:

The Mendoza College of Business offers various research opportunities for credit, including the course, Research in Future Issues (BAMG 30100), which is open to all business students. Students may participate in a Directed Readings course focused on research or serve as a research assistant.

Undergraduate Research Credit Opportunities

Awards are competitive, limited, and are available up to a maximum of $500.

Students will submit a 500-word, single-spaced proposal that will be vetted by a faculty committee that includes the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies. Awards will be granted based on how well the student has explained the requested items in his or her proposal.

Specific grant opportunities

Accountancy 

Faculty research assistantship opportunities are available to students in all areas of accounting, including financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and managerial decision-making. Please contact Dena Leinen, Administrative Assistant, for additional information.

Management 

Faculty research assistantship opportunities are available to students relating to functioning of human, data, and production systems in organizations. Please contact Judy Petty, Administrative Assistant, for additional information.

Finance 

Faculty research assistantship opportunities are available to students relating to financial areas such as investment banking, corporate finance, asset management, and banking. Please contact Marlene Wasikowski, Administrative Assistant, for additional information.

Marketing 

Faculty research assistantships are available to students relating to the effects of managerial marketing policies, consumer behavior, use of information in marketing decisions. Please contact Sandra Palmer, Administrative Assistant, for additional information.
