Idris Adjerid is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Mendoza College of Business. His research focuses on applications of behavioral economics to privacy decision making and the impact of health information technology on patient outcomes and healthcare costs. He received a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Heinz College of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, and both an M.B.A. and B.S. in Business information Technology from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, he worked for four years as a senior analyst at the Government Accountability Office in Washington D.C., with a focus on privacy, security, and data mining. He teaches courses on the strategic uses of information technology and network security and privacy.
