The chairman and CEO of General Motors who took over the
automotive giant in September 2010 will share his leadership perspective during
a talk at the University of Notre Dame on Sept. 9.
Daniel F. Akerson is the kickoff speaker for Boardroom Insights, a fall lecture series offered by the Mendoza College of Business that
brings in corporate leaders and senior executives to discuss current business
issues. Akerson’s talk will take place at 10:40 a.m. in the Mendoza College’s

Akerson, who previously served as the managing director of private
equity firm The Carlyle Group, became GM’s top executive during a time of
foundational change for the auto industry in general and GM in particular, following
the company’s Chapter 11 reorganization in June 2009.
