Among
the new administrators joining the staff at St. Mary's Springs Academy is a new
president to lead the Catholic parochial school system.
Kevin Shaw will assume his leadership
role on July 1. He succeeds Sister Judith Schmidt who announced her retirement
in January.
His
prior experience includes business development, enrollment management at St.
Norbert College and management within large companies, according to a press
release from SMSA.
"We
are very impressed with Kevin's experience and drive to move SMSA to further
academic excellence," stated David Klumpyan, chair of the board of directors. "His deep appreciation for a comprehensive Catholic education experience
drives his passion to generate advancement, managerial results and
growth."
He
is a Fond du Lac native, attended St. Joseph Grade School and is a graduate of
St. Mary's Springs High School. He received his bachelor's degree
from St. Norbert College and master of science in administration from the
University of Notre Dame
"As
the youngest of five children of Frank and Virginia Shaw to attend SMSA, I have
a great appreciation for the storied history of the institution," Shaw
said. "With my background of successful relationship-building and enduring
caring for the life and prospering of SMSA, I feel I will make a strong and
extended contribution to the continued growth of the Academy."
Shaw
will focus on SMSA's four strategic goals: academic excellence, Catholic
identity, financial stability, and faculty performance and development.
