Allianz Life Promotes Bill Gaumond

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America promoted Bill Gaumond to senior vice president, head of Asset Liability Management and Investment Risk Management following a 2 1/2 year assignment at Allianz SE, in Munich, Germany. Gaumond is responsible for implementation of a company-wide asset and liability strategy. He also coordinates the core technical functions of actuarial, finance, risk management and investments to align the company’s investment, hedging and product strategies. Gaumond reports to Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer Carsten Quitter.

Prior to his return to Minneapolis and Allianz Life, Gaumond was a senior leader in Group Planning and Controlling at Allianz SE. He led a team that provided financial oversight for operating entities within the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland. In addition, he directed global lines of business including Allianz Reinsurance, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, and Euler Hermes. Prior to his work at Allianz SE, Gaumond held multiple leadership roles in finance at Allianz Life from 2004 to 2011. He began his business career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Minneapolis where he held an audit role for nine years.
Gaumond has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
