The undergraduate accountancy program at the University of Notre Dame earned a No. 4 ranking, while the graduate program ranked No. 6 in a recent survey of the top 25 accountancy programs nationwide.
The Public Accounting Report 28th Annual Professor’s Survey polled more than 1,900 accountancy professors to measure their perceptions of the programs that most consistently produce students capable of attaining partner status.
Both the Notre Dame undergraduate and the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) programs matched their ranking placements from a year ago.
For the undergraduate survey, the top three spots went to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, the University of Texas-Austin and Brigham Young University. In the graduate program ranking, the University of Texas-Austin, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Brigham Young placed first through third, respectively.

The Notre Dame undergraduate accountancy program at the Mendoza College of Business yearly enrolls about 300 students. U.S. News and World Report ranked the program No. 8 nationally in its most recent “America's Best Colleges 2010” report.
The Notre Dame MSA, which enrolls about 140 students annually, is a two-semester, 30-hour program designed to meet the accreditation requirements of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The program provides a broad-based business education that satisfies the 150-hour educational requirement adopted by more than 48 states and jurisdictions for certification and licensure as a CPA and by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a requirement for membership.
