Barbara R. Porter is Vice President, Business Development and Customer Service for Nicor National,
an unregulated subsidiary of Nicor Inc. (NYSE: GAS), and an affiliate of Nicor Gas, one of the nation’s
largest natural gas distribution companies.
Nicor National markets Home SolutionsSM, a proprietary line of customizable home warranty, energy
efficiency and energy plans that are co-branded with utility companies and marketed primarily through
call centers. Under Ms. Porter’s direction, Nicor National’s call center has earned the designation as a
J.D. Power and Associates Certified Call Center that delivers “An Outstanding Customer Service
Experience” for the past three years.
In 1991, Ms. Porter founded IBT Solutions, a leading call center in the utility and energy industry. IBT
was acquired by Nicor Services in 2005. Prior to her call center experience, she was one of the founding
associates and Operations Manager of Eager Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) a venture capital firm that
specialized in the development of new information services and businesses. Early career experience
includes Original Research II, a customer satisfaction research company and the Del Roth Corporation,
a women’s clothing manufacturing company founded by Ms. Porter.
Ms. Porter has served on the CS Week Executive Summit Advisory Panel for the past three years and is
a member of Nicor’s Ethics Committee. Ms. Porter earned her B.A. in English from Bucknell University.
