John Russell, Former Salomon Brothers executive and currently in a consulting firm in Chicago

John Russell, the former managing director of Midwest Fixed Institutional Sales and Structured Product Sales for Salomon Brothers/Citigroup, earned his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame in 1981. After 22 years with Salomon Brothers, Russell retired in 2006, and in 2007 started money management firm Relative Value Partners with some former colleagues. He served on the board of directors of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships to deserving low-income Chicago elementary school graduates so that they can attend private college preparatory high schools. Russell also is an active board member of Children Outreach and Community Empowerment, an organization currently building a secondary school in rural Tanzania for 700 students.
