Patrick T. Mulva, Vice President and Controller, Exxon Mobil Corporation

Mr. Mulva was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from the University of Texas - San Antonio. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining Exxon Mobil Corporation in 1976
Mr. Mulva began his career with Exxon as a financial analyst at the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery. He held a variety of financial positions of increasing responsibility in the upstream and downstream operations. After managing short-range planning for the U.S. downstream business, he was appointed assistant controller for Exxon Company, International. In 1991, he was named finance director of the Exxon companies in Malaysia. He returned to Exxon Company, USA, in 1993 as upstream controller, and later as the company’s assistant controller, before being appointed controller of Imperial Oil Limited in 1996. In 1998, Mr. Mulva was appointed senior vice-president, finance and administration, and a director of Imperial Oil Limited. On February 1, 2002, he became Vice President-Investor Relations and Secretary of Exxon Mobil Corporation in the company's corporate headquarters in Irving. Mr. Mulva was elected to his current position on July 1, 2004.
Mr. Mulva is chairman of the American Petroleum Institute's General Committee on Finance. He is a member of the Financial Executives International, and its Committee on Corporate Reporting, and a member of the Board of Directors of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
