George Oliver joined General Electric as a member of the Manufacturing Development Program, a precursor to today's Operations Leadership Management Program. He was promoted to vice president of the Aircraft Engines in 1998, and later named president and CEO of Aircraft Engine Services, a global operation of 40 sites, with a team of 10,000 people.
