The most important aspect of networking is found in the second syllable: It takes “work” to use your contacts effectively, whether you’re looking for a job or you’re an entrepreneur scouting out potential investors.

Notre Dame MBA and EMBA alumni are invited to hone their networking skills during an interactive workshop on Jan. 18 offered by the Kellogg School of Business Alumni Career Services. The three-hour workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. CT and takes place at Northwestern University’s Wieboldt Hall. Presenters Matthew Temple and Karie Davis from the Kellogg School will focus on a range of topics, including efficient speed networking and creating an effective elevator pitch.

The cost of the event is $25, which includes hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Participants must register online by Jan. 15.
