Emily Sarah Block

Assistant Professor


Professor Block conducts research on the ways that organizations manage, integrate or compartmentalize incommensurate identities, values, and organizational practices. Recently, she has explored these tensions in the US Forest and Paper Industry's attempt to self-regulate innovation in the Television Industry, the drivers of unethical behavior in Manufacturing firms, and the study of nature of firm reputation. Professor Block teaches undergraduate courses in Principles of Management and Human Resources Management. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Business Administration and her PhD from the University of Illinois. Before pursuing graduate work, she was a technology and human resources consultant at Accenture.
