Newport Beach, Calif. (March 23, 2006) -- Pacific Life Insurance Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Thomas C. Sutton announced the promotions of Edward R. Byrd, to Senior Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer; Joseph Celentano to Senior Vice President, Product Management; Richard J. Schindler to Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer; John Torell, CPA, to Vice President, Accounting & Reporting; and John White to Vice President, Internal Wholesaling. 

Mr. Celentano, a resident of Mission Viejo, joined the Guaranteed Investments area of Pacific Life in 1992 with five years of previous experience in pension product management.  As AVP, Product Management, he was responsible for the design, development, and implementation, as well as the ongoing management of accumulation products. He was named Vice President, Product Management, in 1999.  In his new role as Senior Vice President, Product Management, he is responsible for research, design, marketing, pricing, and operations and administration of the Investment Management Division's products, which include GICs and synthetic GICs, funding agreements, institutional annuities, and separate accounts. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marist College in New York, and an MBA from Notre Dame University in Indiana.
